Q1 Google Classroom TODO List  (Updated 10-16-24)

Please join the proper Google Classroom class from your schedule.  Make sure you complete these assignments and (turn in) or (submit) when you are finished. I will not be creating new assignments on the weekends or holidays, only on scheduled school days.  Here is the list.  I will update this list each day I assign a new assignment in Google Classroom.  All assignments will show up with a due date on your Google Classroom.

Monday 8-19-24 (In-Service day and Open House)

• Welcome back!!!!
• Open House 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm
• Discuss syllabus and grading system
• Discuss ways to communicate (email, Google Classroom, phone, and remind)
• Go to Google classroom and join the proper class using the class codes on my overview webpage

Thursday 8-22-24 (Day 1)

• Here is an outline of what we will be doing:
• Join Google Classroom
• Discuss classroom rules, what to bring to class, and the course syllabus
• No HW!

Friday 8-23-24 (Day 2)

• Here is an outline of what we will be doing:
• Get into assigned seats (seating chart)
• Go over Mr. Ruddy's class syllabus (grading procedures, HCP, point system, +'s and -'s)
• Show an example of science homework
• Read Chapter (NOS - Nature of Science) pages NOS 4 to NOS 11 in class
• No HW!!

Monday 8-26-24 (Day 3)

• Today is my birthday!!!
• Here is an outline of what we will be doing:
• Work on Pretest assignment in class (25 questions - multiple choice - PSSA format)
• This will not hurt your average if you do not do well.
• Pick lab seats / create seating charts for lab groups
• HW#1 Q1 NOS 1 Lesson Outline - Scientific Inquiry (30 points)
• *This assignment will need to be turned in by midnight, or it will be considered late.

Tuesday 8-27-24 (Day 4)

• Have students come up to the board and do examples
• No homework! 

Wednesday 9-4-24 (Day 8)

• Here is an outline of what we will be doing:
• Finish metric conversion problems (if needed)
• Finish scientific notation problems (I will have volunteers come up to the board.)
• Work on HW#5 Q1 (rest of period - lab groups)
• HW#5 Q1 NOS-2 Metric Conversions and Scientific Notation (25 points) 

Thursday 9-5-24 (Day 9)

• Here is an outline of what we will be doing:

• - I will have volunteers come up to the board to do the problems.
• Work on HW#6 for the rest of the period (in lab groups)

• Show how to do math skill problems from page 15 in the book

Monday 9-16-24 (Day 16)

• Go over average speed example problems from Friday
• Work on 2 HW assignments for the rest of the period.
• HW#12 Q1 Ch 1-2 Content Practice and Math Skills (15 points)
• HW#13 Q1 Ch 1-2 Math Skills (scratch work) - given as a WS
   *HW#13 (WS) will be collected on Tuesday (if not done in class) 

Tuesday 9-17-24 (Day 17)

• I will have students put the 4 math skill problems on the Smartboard

Friday 9-20-24 (Day 20)

• Go over HW#15 Q1 Ch 1-3 Content Practice and Math Skills - Acceleration
• Put 4 Math Skill Acceleration Problems on the Smartboard from HW#16 (Volunteers needed)
• Pass back graded papers
• Intro Ch 2-1 Gravity and Friction (if time permits)
